My name is Teresa Hurst, and I am the owner of Southern Transplant Cottage Bakery. I moved to Ohio in 2018 when my husband's job brought us North from Alabama. We settled in the Toledo area until we decided to purchase our forever home in Defiance in 2024. Being a stay at home wife to a husband who is frequently out of town, I was bored. I have always had a passion for cooking and my love language is feeding others. I decided to try to improve my baking skills in my free time. My desire to simply learn some new things in the kitchen has officially turned into an obsession! I decided I wanted to do more with my new-found passion, so Southern Transplant Cottage Bakery was born.

I have a couple of goals with this new venture. First, I want to provide delicious baked goods to the people in my new community. Second, I hope to meet lots of new people. We chose to make Defiance our new home and hope to connect with others in a way that makes it feel as if it always has been!
